FW22 Inspiration.
Our FW22 season is inspired by color palettes that explore the intersection between manmade and natural. The two most prominent seasonal colors are derived from orange-red sandstone and lush Northern California forests. We also explore the ways that natural materials are transformed into functional objects that are used for decades - even centuries - while taking on beautiful patinas. We love how unfinished natural wood furniture develops a rich honey tone over time; if you’ve ever had the opportunity to visit either our NY or LA flagship stores, you'll see that our fixtures are several shades darker than day one from sunlight and daily use. We sought to incorporate that color idea into the collection.
We also found ourselves drawn to the colors and textures in Le Corbusier’s summer cabin on the beach - Le Cabanon - which looks like an ordinary log cabin on the outside but is built in accordance with his “Le Modulor” system, perfectly scaled to the natural proportions of the human body and how it functions. There’s something special about looking at the well-aged wood and the perfectly faded and subdued colors in this cabin that Le Corbusier spent 18 summers in. Our hope is that our clothing stands the test of time in a similar way.
Our lookbook releases shortly, followed by the first delivery of FW22 in early September.
