For our final release of the year, we are excited to present our second collaboration project with Seattle-based Crescent Down Works. For this project, we worked with their Down Shirt silhouette which features a snap-front closure (with leather-backed snaps), chest flap pocket, and front kangaroo pockets for hand warming purposes. The jacket is lined with a soft black nylon and filled with approximately 5oz of 700 fill power white goose down. We've found that due to the slimmer fit of the Down Shirt silhouette, it works well in colder weather as a mid-layer under an outer shell on the coldest of days. In warmer climates, it's the perfect weight for a winter jacket on its own.
The exterior, of course, is where the jacket really shines. We built off of our 15y collaboration project and revisited the idea of repurposing vintage military fabrics to use as the jacket shell. Each panel is cut and arranged by hand to give a patchwork-type feel where multiple shades of olive are present throughout the garment; some are darker and others are more washed out and faded. As such, each jacket is unique - the one that's pictured above is the only of its kind, but every jacket will have a similar effect.
We are thankful to Crescent Down Works for the level of attention to detail that they bring to each one of our projects. Jackets like these take time to make and they have never shied away from the challenge. Look for the Crescent Down Works for 3sixteen Down Shirts to release on 3sixteen.com this Friday, December 20th at noon EST; we'll also have them in-store at our LA flagship when we open later that day.
