Our friend Jaime Wong, owner of bicoastal vintage shop Raggedy Threads, has been teaching herself chainstitch embroidery over the past year or so. Last winter, she made a few watch caps with hand-embroidered smiley faces sewn in and gave them out to friends and we loved how they turned out. As we all have a bit more time on our hands these days, we asked Jaime to embellish a few of our herringbone twill 6-panel caps with different smiley arrangements. She's spent the past two weeks working on 24 caps and putting a distinct design onto each one and we'll be releasing them tomorrow. Each one is unique: half of the caps have one large smiley face in the front and center, and the other half feature a few smaller smileys on the side. You can choose the flavor you prefer on checkout. (By the way - if you haven't yet had a chance to read our feature interview with Jaime on our editorial site, Singularities, now is a great time to do it.)
Hand-embroidered Smiley Caps will retail for $65 and will release at noon EDT on Friday, May 22nd on 3sixteen.com.
