Our friendship with DSPTCH's founder, Rich Liu, goes back over 10 years. We first met when he was buying for a shop that carried our brand; he came on later to help us out with our website, and when he launched his own bag company, DSPTCH, a few short years after, we were glad to be able to support each other as two growing small businesses. Because our companies share a commitment to local manufacturing, lasting materials, and enduring design work, our annual collaboration projects always seem to come together naturally.

This year, to help celebrate our 15 year anniversary, we got a little more ambitious and worked together to expand the capsule collection. We kept the idea of combining waxed canvas and leather to create premium daypacks and created new colorways. In addition to the bags, though, we designed a graphic tee and a special version of our BDU jacket out of Ventile. Originally designed in England and now manufactured in Switzerland, Ventile is a technical 100% cotton fabric that is highly breathable and water repellent, and was first used for the British RAF in 1943 as well as the first summit of Mount Everest in 1953. What's remarkable about Ventile is that it's a completely uncoated fabric; the water repellency comes from the tight weave and the natural properties of the yarns, which swell when introduced to water.

Our graphic tees were designed to represent shared ideals and a commitment to high quality domestic manufacturing. The graphic references old factory tshirts and is printed on our standard heavyweight jersey tees.

We made a few updates to our collaborative Daypack, a staple bag style in the DSPTCH lineup. While past iterations featured a 10oz waxed canvas, we've upped the material to a super heavyweight 18oz waxed twill. We took a tonal color approach to this season's bags, matching up leathers and zipper pulls to the canvas colors for a different look. There are four colorways in total: Olive Drab, Field Tan, Grey, and Black. Each one features YKK Racquet Coil luggage-grade zippers, Duraflex mil-spec hardware, nylon webbing, a nylon water-resistant lining, and high-flow mesh for the straps and bag backing.

All four colorways of the backpack sit on the ground together, in the following order from left to right: olive, tan, grey and black.
