This Friday, we're proud to present our sixth annual collaboration with Schott NYC. After making custom double rider jackets with Schott for the past five years, we felt it was time to shake things up a bit and for the first time, we are launching a jacket silhouette that is exclusively developed for 3sixteen. We worked directly with Schott to develop a leather jacket version of our Type 3s, one of our perennial best sellers and are pleased to share that they nailed every last detail ranging from our signature crossed back yoke to the clean waistband and modified body length and hand pockets. When we received the first sample, we felt pretty strongly that this jacket fully reflected the spirit of the modernized Type 3 that our customers know and love from us. We hope you agree.

In the spirit of vintage Big E trucker jackets, we elected to source a beautiful copper cowhide roughout leather with subtle variation in nep and hair throughout for this project. This leather is tough and can take a beating, but is not nearly as heavy as the black oiled roughout from a few years ago so we find it to be a lot softer and more wearable from day one. With time, we are looking forward to see the roughout bare in some patches and dirty in others; this is the kind of jacket that you shouldn't be gentle on.

The tones of the leather line up perfectly with the browns, coyotes and olives in our FW21 collection and yet this jacket looks equally great tossed on over a simple white tee and some jeans. It’s a thoroughly modern jacket when it comes to fit, yet aesthetically it looks like you could have unearthed it in your dad’s closet. Additional details include a fully black satin-lined body, our custom YKK gunmetal two-prong shanks, and a hidden inner chest pocket for additional functionality. Those of you who own one of our denim Type 3s jackets will find this pattern more relaxed to allow for layering, but we still recommend taking your usual size for this jacket; there's no need to size down.

The Schott for 3sixteen Suede Type 3s Jacket retails for $900 and will release on Friday, January 7th at noon EST via 3sixteen.com. Limited stock will also be available in our NY and LA flagship stores on the same day. The following retailers will also be stocking this special collaboration:
