As the year draws to a close, we've been reflecting not only on this current milestone but on the ones that preceded it. In 2013, we put together a set of collaborations entitled the "Decade Collection" to celebrate 10 years in business and launched it via a pop-up shop on Allen Street in the Lower East Side. Of the brands and individuals we collaborated with back then, three of them have contributed to our 20th anniversary projects. San Francisco-based design and manufacturing brand DSPTCH is one of them, helmed by founder Rich Liu. Back then, DPSTCH was in its early years but our friendship with Rich reached back further to our streetwear days when he was the buyer for a boutique in San Jose that carried 3sixteen. Rich has been a supporter for a long time, but more importantly he's been a loyal friend and a listening ear.

DSPTCH focuses on functional bags, hardware and accessories that are made of hard-wearing materials that will take a beating - although our aesthetic inspirations may differ, our core values align closely. We've really enjoyed working with him on special projects over the years, including waxed canvas and leather daypacks and private label bags constructed of vintage army surplus materials. For our 20th anniversary, we worked with DSPTCH to create a small capsule of bags utilizing the same Horween horsehide that was custom developed for our mules and Schott Perfecto collaboration. Paired together with heavy duck canvas, nickel G2 zippers and nylon webbing, these bags have a luxurious feel while maintaining all the functional design that you'd expect from a DSPTCH bag.

The Ridgepack is the centerpiece of the collection and is a relatively new bag style that features a clamshell opening, which allows the user to unzip and access the entire contents of the bag at once. We added a front zip pouch for added storage and functionality; the interior of the bag features a padded laptop sleeve and a mesh pocket organizer for your phone, wallet or Airpods. The Sling Bag is a style that we designed together with DSPTCH and is a versatile city bag that allows you to move about with daily essentials whether at home or on the road. We rounded out the collection with the Unit Pouch, a small zippered case that can hold your phone, keys, wallet or other small essentials. It can be easily attached to the Ridgepack or Sling Bag for added functionality. All three styles are cut and sewn in their Los Angeles workshop.

All three styles release on Monday, December 11th on 3sixteen.com, DSPTCH.com, and our NY & LA flagship stores.
