We’ve had the pleasure working with Viberg on numerous boot collaborations for the past two years. Based in Victoria, British Columbia, Viberg is a family-owned operation that has been crafting hard-wearing footwear with incredible attention to detail since 1931. For this upcoming release, we worked with them to design a new kind of service boot on their 2040 last that begins with natural tan chromexcel and black oil tan roughouts and ends in a leather stacked midsole, the first time this detail has been employed on a pair of Vibergs. This makeup also features a Vibram mini-ripple sole and a heel pull loop.
We’ll also be releasing a new iteration of their 2030 captoe service boot utilizing a rich brown Coffee Chromepak from Horween Leather. This makeup was originally produced in the Fall of 2013 as part of our 10 year anniversary Decade Collection; at the time we used an Olive Chromepak leather that quickly sold out. It’s taken Viberg some time to source a new leather that closely matches the hand and pull-up of the olive, and we finally have it in this run.
Both boot styles will release at our NYC office and showroom on Wednesday, July 1st at noon EST, and Brett Viberg will be in attendance to meet customers and answer questions. He'll also have samples of some of their new goodyear welted offerings on hand to check out in person. The remainder of the stock from this run will post online on Thursday, July 2nd at noon EST.
PLEASE NOTE: In the interest of fairness, we're asking that customers at the in-store release only purchase boots in their size. In other words, if you wear a size 8.5 you may purchase one pair of any style that's still available in your size. Online purchases the next day will be closely monitored and any online orders that contain more than one size will be canceled. Thank you in advance for your understanding!
